Celebrating Razorbacks - Part II,
Former Razorback Payton Corpus is wrapping up his senior year playing lacrosse at Cleveland State University. He joined the Razorbacks in 7th grade after beginning his athletic career in youth hockey.
Payton went on to play for the Razorbacks’ high school club team, which captured the final Illinois Club Lacrosse Championship. He also competed in travel lacrosse before being recruited to Cleveland State, where he became the first Division I lacrosse player to come through the Razorbacks program.
During the 2026 season, Payton has recorded 32 ground balls (8th all-time) and 20 caused turnovers (2nd all-time). He has also earned two Conference Player of the Week honors, helping lead the Vikings to their first-ever NEC Tournament appearance.
Cleveland State will close out the 2026 regular season with a road matchup against Long Island University on Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m. CST - streaming here: necfrontrow.com/game/14867
With a win, the Vikings have a chance to secure the No. 2 seed. A loss would place them as the No. 3 seed, setting up a potential semifinal rematch with LIU.
Congratulations to Payton on an outstanding collegiate career, and best of luck to the Vikings as they finish the season strong!
